Your Horse Deserves a Trainer Who Listens. To Both of You.

Personalized Training for Every Horse, Every Goal.

Whether you have a young horse that needs a solid start, an older horse with habits that have made riding less enjoyable, or anything in between, we meet every horse exactly where they are. No cookie-cutter programs. No shortcuts. Just patient, methodical work built on a foundation of trust.

Alana personally trains every horse that comes through Sunny Days. The first week of any training program is entirely groundwork, establishing communication, building confidence, and laying the foundation before any riding begins. From there, each program is tailored to that specific horse's mentality, experience level, and the owner's goals. You'll receive regular updates throughout the process, and Alana is always available to answer questions. If she has concerns about your horse, you'll hear from her — not weeks later, but right away.

Our Training Programs

Starting & Foundation Work

For owners with young, unstarted horses or horses that need to go back to the basics. If your horse is missing the fundamental building blocks, yielding, standing, leading, accepting a rider, this is where we start. The first week is entirely groundwork. No rushing, no shortcuts. We build the foundation that everything else will depend on, and we make sure your horse understands what's being asked before we move forward. You'll receive regular updates, and we'll involve you in the process as much as you want.

Behavioral Correction & Restart

For horses with established habits that have made riding less safe or less enjoyable, spooking, bucking, refusals, ground manners, or anything that's gotten between you and enjoying your horse. We don't patch problems; we go back to the root cause and rebuild from there. This takes longer than a quick fix. It's also how it actually gets fixed. Open communication with you throughout because your long-term relationship with your horse is the whole point.

Discipline-Specific Development

For horses (and owners) who have the foundation but want to develop specific skills, barrel racing, trail horse conditioning, or general all-around performance. All disciplines considered. Alana has experience across Western, English, barrels, and trail, and she'll tailor the program to where your horse actually is, not where a cookie-cutter timeline says they should be.

What Others Are Saying

"I highly recommend Alana!! My father and I recently adopted 2 Standardbreds and Alana has been absolutely instrumental in helping us work with our boys! (My father hasn’t owned a horse in 40 years and this is my first). She is very knowledgeable with horses and I absolutely love her"

-Amanda

"So happy with how far my daughters horse (Oreo) and my horse (Monti) have come. Oreo was very green and would buck when you would try to ride her, so I was looking for a trainer to work with her and after a month of Alana working with her my daughter is able to ride her and couldn’t be happier.
I bought Monti from a place and was told he was beginner and kid safe which was the furthest thing from the truth. After he got settled in home he was dangerous and would strike with his front feet any time we went near him and tried to grab him. He was scared of literally everything, so when Alana came out she said she would take both horses and it was the best decision I made for them. The progress she made with him is amazing he comes right up to me will let you hug him and do pretty much anything to him he is like a totally different horse."

-Russ

"My mini donkey wouldn’t let the vet anywhere near her. We were struggling with hoof maintenance and basic grooming. After a few short sessions with Alana she is a totally different girl. She is letting us do everything we need to keep her happy and healthy. I can’t thank her enough!"

-Tara

A Few Things to Know Before You Reach Out

Alana takes on one training horse at a time, based on availability. All training inquiries begin with a phone call or in-person meeting to discuss your horse's history, current situation, and your goals, before any commitment is made on either side.

What we'll need from you: current negative Coggins test and up-to-date vaccination records before your horse arrives. Payment is due prior to the start of each training session.

If your horse cannot be trailered to the farm, ask us about our Travel & Train option! Alana will come to your location to work with your horse on-site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you specialize in a particular discipline?

No, and that's intentional. Alana works across Western, English, barrels, and trail. The first focus is always a strong foundation, regardless of where you want to end up.

How long will training take?

That depends entirely on the horse. Every animal is different in mentality, experience level, and what they need. Alana will give you an honest assessment after your intake conversation, not a number designed to make you feel better.

Will I get updates on my horse?

Yes. Alana provides weekly updates, or post-session updates if you prefer. If anything comes up in between, she'll contact you right away.

Can I come watch my horse's sessions?

Yes! Just coordinate with Alana in advance. Some horses do better with owners present early in training, others don't. She'll advise based on your horse's specific situation.

What if my horse can't be transported to the farm?

Ask about the Travel & Train option. Alana will travel to your property to work with your horse on-site.
